I knew that I always had headaches more often than anyone else that I knew, but I still didn’t think that it was abnormal, mainly because it was normal for me. I wasn’t one of those people who had migraines so bad that I just wanted to pass out so I would not feel them anymore. Mine were bad, but they were not quite that bad. Still, I wish that I did not have to go through with them as often as I did. Once I started seeing a San Jose chiropractor at the suggestion of a coworker, it turns out that I don’t have to live with them like that.
I always attributed my headaches to stress, because I am always feeling pressured for time because of my work and busy volunteer life. The chiropractor explained that while stress headaches are real, that the underlying cause has to be something associated with my central nervous system. I asked him if he was going to be able to heal me of my headaches since he was so knowledgeable about them, and he had good and bad news for me. The bad is that he cannot heal headaches, but the good is that adjustments would relieve pressure off of the nerves, which would make me feel better.
He went on to explain about manipulations and adjustments, and he assured me that they were not painful at all. He was able to show me with some diagrams just how much beneficial this would be to my entire body, and I was convinced that it was the way to proceed. I went several times in just two weeks, then I tapered off to once a week. I still see him because in addition to not having my headaches now, I feel better than I ever have before.
